Cannabis Concentrates are made by extracting the Cannabinoids from the Cannabis flower.

The strain determines the flavor, plant genetics, and terpene profile.

While the different extraction methods are ultimately what determines the type of Cannabis Concentrate you’ll be dabbing.

Quite similarly to turning oranges into orange juice, concentrates are created by extracting the cannabinoids and most important parts of the marijuana plant - aka the terpenes.

Once the cannabinoids have been extracted and there is no more plant material, the concentrates become more potent than the original Cannabis flower it was derived from.

This higher potency is what typically leads weed smokers to the path of becoming a “dabber”.

The Different Types of Concentrates/Dabs

  1. Wax

Sometimes compared to resembling ear wax, the infamous THC Wax has generated quite the buzz throughout the Stoner Community.

The soft, gooey texture makes it one of the easiest concentrates to handle.

It is best dabbed with a classic dab rig, ERig, or Nectar Collector.

2. Shatter

Shatter is a hard, thin, and delicate form of a Cannabis Concentrate.

Its production process is similar to other concentrates, however, after production professionals will leave the oil to cool and cure.

This process creates an almost pure, glass-like consistency known as Shatter.

Like glass, shatter can easily be broken up.

Stoners often break it up in multiple doses to dab it with rigs, Nectar Collectors, or wrap them around their joints/blunts.

3. Distillate Oil

This is a liquid-like concentrate best known for its use in cartridges.

Oil-filled cartridges, a new-age invention, provide Stoners with a discreet and fast way of consuming Cannabis.

Unlike most concentrates, Distillate Oil is more of a liquid-based consistency.

4. Budder/Badder

A personal favorite of ours is badder - other times referred to as budder.

Badder is a softer concentrate with a peanut-butter feel and appearance to it.

Easily scooped or molded with a dab tool, you’ll find the best way to consume badder is with a Dab Rig.

5. Crumble

The name says a lot about the consistency and appearance of this concentrate.

Crumble falls apart easily and looks a lot like a golden pile of dirt.

This concentrate can be dabbed with any rig, however, some Stoners enjoy sprinkling it on their joints, blunts, or bowls.

6. Sugar

If you took your regular household sugar and coated it in a bunch of honey- that’s exactly what Cannabis Sugar Concentrates would look like!

A golden, wet sugar-like substance that holds incredible terpenes and flavors.

This concentrate melts quickly on bangers and is easily smoked out of any Dab Rig.

7. Sauce

Sauce or Terp Sauce is a wet and runny concentrate.

It is produced for its high potency, terpenes, and flavor. Terp Sauce is often mixed with other concentrates, like Diamonds, to create a more solid form.

8. Diamonds/Crystalline THC

Similar to quartz crystals, THC Diamonds have a rock-like appearance.

This concentrates color ranges from clear, white, or yellow/gold.

Often coated in Terp Sauce, processors are able to isolate pure THC from the sauce to create a crystalline concentrate.

9. Rosin

Unlike a lot of other Concentrates, Rosin is made without any chemicals, referred to as solventless. This solventless production process is what makes Rosin so distinguishable from other concentrates.

Stoners favor this chemical-free process and a cleaner, tastier dabbing experience.

10. Hash

Another solventless and chemical-free concentrate is- Hash or Hashish.

A cannabis concentrate that’s been around for thousands of years!

Hash is made when the trichomes are purposefully separated from the plant.

The process of Hash-making is said to have been practiced since 900 AD.

Hash is best smoked through a joint, blunt, or bowl.

It can be easily molded/rolled with your fingers.

But be careful - it’s sticky!

LIVE Concentrates Explained

Live Concentrates are one of the newest craves throughout the Cannabis Community.

Known for its complex and distinct terpene profile, consumers reported loving the live experience more than any other concentrate.

But what makes live concentrates so great?

The powerful experience is a direct result of the production process used to make Live Concentrates. Live Concentrates are created with fresh-frozen Cannabis.

Fresh-Frozen is made when the Cannabis flower has been immediately frozen after harvest.

Freezing the Cannabis flower upon harvest helps preserve the trichomes and the plant’s incredible scent/flavor.

This fresh-frozen process quickly became a favorite for DabHeads around the nation.

Common Ways To Consume Cannabis Concentrates

  • Dab Rig

The most popular way to consume Cannabis Concentrates.

You can purchase a dab rig at your local glass/tobacco store or at an online headshop.

  • Nectar Collector

The easiest, most accessible way to dab on the go!

A Nectar Collector is a straw-like pipe used for dabbing Cannabis Concentrates.

  • Joint/Blunt

A popular way of consuming Cannabis Concentrates is sprinkling them inside your joint/blunt. Simply enhance your next joint session by throwing in a little crumble!

This method of consumption is great for Stoners who enjoy Concentrates but don’t want to spend money on the equipment.

  • Add To Your Bowl/Bong

Take your bong session to the next level by sprinkling a cherry on top... I mean, dab.

WARNING: THE MANUFACTURING OF SHATTER AND OTHER CANNABIS CONCENTRATES SHOULD ONLY BE PERFORMED BY PROFESSIONALS AS THESE PROCESSES CAN BE EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND ILLEGAL IN MANY JURISDICTIONS.

PLEASE CONSUME RESPONSIBLY.
